This is the town in which I currently live - Traben-Trarbach on Mont
Royal, "the Royal Mountain". I used to think there was nothing
special here.

Die Röte Göttin [Red Goddess] was found a number of years ago by
Helmut Wendhut, since deceased, on the Mont Royal plateau
overlooking Rissbach, a part of Traben-Trarbach.

The reddish-orange color of the megalith indicates that it marks a
reddish-orange star, which I first took to be Dubhe in Ursa Major,
also a reddish-orange star, the only one in Ursa Major - the rest
are whitish.

However, renewed analysis showed it to be the bright orange star
gamma- Leonis somewhat below Dubhe at the forehead of Leo (called
Al jeb-bah "the forehead" of Leo to the Arabs according to Richard
Hinckley Allen).
